Robert Hitchins gets the go-ahead for two new industrial units in Gloucestershire

Developer Robert Hitchins Ltd is set to forge ahead with its plan for two new industrial units at Innsworth Business Park after receiving reserved matters planning permission from Tewkesbury Borough Council.

The prominent 6.7-acre employment site, which is now fully ready to develop, is located off a new roundabout on the A40 Northern Bypass between Cheltenham and Gloucester.

It presents a rare opportunity for businesses to invest in best-in-class commercial premises with the highest ESG credentials on a design and build basis.

The scheme will provide occupiers with the opportunity to rent or buy buildings from 44,180 sq ft up to a combined size of 109,060 sq ft deliverable within a year of putting a spade in the ground.

RHL’s Senior Development Manager Michael Plimmer said Innsworth Business Park offers a great opportunity for companies wishing to expand or relocate to Gloucestershire.

“We are confident that there will be a lot of interest, given the shortage of good-quality business space in the area. We are talking to a number of parties already particularly within the urban logistics, hi tech and pharmaceutical spheres,” he said.

“Businesses want three main things: high quality energy efficient buildings meeting the latest environmental standards, easy access, and the right location to serve their customer base. We believe our development will provide all these requirements.

“Innsworth Business Park is in a unique location to serve Gloucester and Cheltenham and very close to hi-tech engineering businesses in and around Staverton and Gloucestershire Airport. Easy access to the M5 directly off the new roundabout on the A40 is a huge bonus for companies who want the best connectivity to Birmingham, Bristol and beyond.”

Innsworth Business Park forms the gateway to the wider Innsworth Park mixed-use development off the A40 which covers 147 acres and consists of 1,300 new homes, a district centre and office park, and sits alongside Innsworth Technology Park.

It is fully serviced and ready to deliver build-to-suit options within 12 months of agreeing terms. Planning consent is for E(g) and B8 classes.

The agents are Cushman & Wakefield, Alder King and JLL.
