HBD hires Project Director as Birmingham team expands further

Steve Gascoyne

HBD, part of Henry Boot, has announced another senior hire to its Birmingham office as its Midlands team continues to grow.

The developer has hired Steve Gascoyne as Project Director, who joins from Godwin Developments where he was Construction Director. With 27 years’ real estate experience, Steve has held a number of senior roles, including Operations Director at Mace and Associate Director at Wakemans.

Alongside HBD’s Midlands schemes, Steve will also support the delivery of Golden Valley in Cheltenham, a major project adjacent to GCHQ which sits at the heart of the UK’s cyber strategy.

The appointment is the latest in a series of hires to HBD’s Midlands team in recent months – James Walters joined as director and Alistair Cockcroft as Development Manager – plus the promotion of Hannah Voogd and Alex Temple.

Ed Hutchinson, Managing Director at HBD, said: “Steve is the latest in a series of senior hires within our Birmingham office as we deliver a number of major projects across the region. He joins a great team and will play a key role in the delivery of both our Midlands schemes and Golden Valley.”

HBD is underway with several large-scale projects in the Midlands, including new units at Markham Vale in Derbyshire, SPARK in Walsall and two residential schemes in Birmingham’s Jewellery Quarter.

HBD is one of the UK’s leading property developers, working with a £1.3bn development pipeline. It focuses on a number of key sectors; industrial and logistics, urban development and residential, delivering schemes that are high-quality, sustainable and meet stringent ESG requirements.
