Accountancy and business advisory firm, BDO LLP has returned to its Ocean Village home in Southampton after a 12 month absence, following a major multi-million-pound renovation project.
Earlier this year, the firm signed a new long-term 15 year lease at Arcadia House on Maritime Walk, providing 17,000 sq. ft. of commercial space for 250 employees and partners and cementing its long-term commitment to the region.
In the last 11 months, the building has undergone significant renovation, in conjunction with the landlord Forelle Estates. The newly refurbished office provides BDO with a modern, collaborative working space which includes technology to support the firm’s approach to agile working, with employees able to work from a mixture of the office, the sites of the businesses they work with or at home.
The potential Grade A offices support BDO’s own environmental and sustainability commitments. As a firm, BDO has set out plans to repurpose all of its office spaces to fit in with its long-term Net Zero and ESG commitments, which include halving its emissions by 2030 and becoming Net-Zero by 2050 or sooner.
Steve Le Bas, Regional Managing Partner at BDO in Southampton, commented:
“We’re delighted to be back at a revamped and new look Arcadia House – a place we’ve called home for 19 years. We have firm roots in the Central South region and this ambitious renovation project cements that commitment even further.
“We want to be at the heart of the regional business community in every sense of the word, providing our people with a fantastic and flexible working environment that encourages true collaboration – not only with each other, but with the exciting mid-market businesses that are an important part of the regional landscape.”
