EFG-IFA first wealth management firm to join Birmingham Forward

EFG-IFA Independent Financial Advisers (EFG-IFA) has become the first firm of independent financial advisers to join the city lobbying group Birmingham Forward.

Accepting EFG-IFA into membership, joint interim executive vice chairs Nicola Fleet-Milne and Sally Beavan said Birmingham Forward welcomed the firm not only as the city’s pre-eminent wealth management advisers, but also because of its international connections.

EFG-IFA is part of EFG International which operates in over 30 locations worldwide and is headquartered in Zurich, Switzerland.

The firm was created by combining EFG Ashby London and EFG Platts Fello, the IFA businesses of EFG Private Bank Ltd.

The Birmingham office is based in the old Stock Exchange building at 33 Great Charles Street, Birmingham, and also has offices in Wolverhampton and London.

John Male is the UK managing director, with former Ashby London head Peter London as chairman and well known West Midlands property investor Paul Bassi as a non-executive director.

John Male said: “As the regional capital, Birmingham is the natural home of many of the Midlands’ entrepreneurs and wealth creators.

“EFG Independent Financial Advisers is based in Birmingham because from this central location we can reach out to our clients not only in the city but across middle England in general.

“We are pleased to be the only stand-alone independent financial advisers to be members of Birmingham Forward and we look forward to making the most of our membership in the coming year and building on our already strong network of contacts throughout the city.”

Joint interim executive vice chairs Nicola Fleet-Milne and Sally Beavan said: “Birmingham Forward provides a unique voice for the city’s substantial professional quarter and we are always keen to ensure that our members provide the fullest range of services to the region’s growing businesses and wealth creators.”
