Jones Lang LaSalle today announce that Troy Javaher is promoted to head of Capital Markets for Central & Eastern Europe (CEE), with his successor in the role of managing director for Romania being Gijs Klomp.
After six years at the helm in Bucharest, Troy Javaher will relocate to Prague to take up a new role as EMEA Capital Markets lead director for Central & Eastern Europe. His move follows the announcement earlier this month that Tomasz Trzoslo, presently head of CEE Capital Markets, is to become the firm’s new managing director for Poland in April.
Troy Javaher will take an overview of cross-border investment activities across the Central & Eastern Europe area where Jones Lang LaSalle has offices in seven countries (Croatia, Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland, Romania, Serbia and Slovakia), reporting to the head of EMEA Capital Markets, Richard Bloxam, in London.
Richard Bloxam commented: “Over the long-term, we see a clear trend in rising volumes of cross-border real estate investment into the Central and Eastern European region. Troy’s appointment into this new role further strengthens Jones Lang LaSalle’s market-leading capability to advise our clients on their cross-border investment requirements, working hand-in-hand with the strong capital markets teams we have in place in ten cities across seven countries in CEE. Troy is already very well known in the region, with a great track record and is the ideal fit for this new role.”
Troy Javaher said: “It is a great honour for me to take over the key CEE Capital Markets international linkage role from Tomasz Trzoslo who has been a fantastic leader of our highly accomplished team of market-leading investment professionals across Central and Eastern Europe. I am excited by the opportunity and looking forward to helping our clients drive new international capital flows. At the same, I am very pleased to welcome Gijs Klomp as my successor in heading our strong and growing business in Romania. Gijs is a proven professional and highly regarded in the market. He will excel at leading the team forward.”
Gijs Klomp is to join on 1 May as the new managing director of Jones Lang LaSalle’s business in Romania. He joins from CBRE Global Investors (formerly ING Real Estate Investment Management) where he was CEE transaction manager as well as head of asset management for Romania, having set up the Romanian business of CBREGi.
Jones Lang LaSalle EMEA Management Board member Richard Batten, who oversees the CEE region, said: “We are delighted that Gijs Klomp is joining as our new managing director for Romania. Gijs will bring a depth of experience and skills that will complement our existing team in Bucharest and provide the leadership vision to oversee our next phase of growth. His appointment allows us to promote Troy Javaher into the new cross-border capital markets lead role for CEE which he is ideally suited to, with a great track record in investment business and a wide field of international contacts.”
Gijs Klomp said: “Joining Jones Lang LaSalle and serving as managing director in a key CEE market such as Romania is a real privilege for me. Romania is a country I feel offers great, yet often still untapped, opportunities. I will continue Troy’s work with enthusiasm and commitment, assisting our clients to tap into this growth market while always ensuring they receive the high standards of service they associate with our brand.”
