A surge in demand for physiotherapy has seen a Worcestershire business expand to its sixth treatment centre, secured with the help of property agents John Truslove.
Founded by Kiran Sharma 24 years ago, Physio & Health Matters is aiming to recruit up to ten more staff this year as it caters for a growing clientele.
“I believe it is the quality of our treatment and care that underlies a lot of the growth,” said Kiran.
“We have built an excellent reputation which has seen a rise in private patients, along with an increase in numbers of NHS patients that are being referred to us.
“We have also recently launched our corporate service which covers work related injuries. In this we provide support and guidance on DSE assessments looking at the working environment and ergonomics of the staff and health and safety advice.
“We have had great interest in our wellbeing at work particularly in which we provide desk-based massages and support businesses with their wellbeing agenda. This helps with staff physical and mental well-being.”

Kiran worked with James Haynes, apprentice surveyor at John Truslove, and joint managing director Ian Parker, in the hunt for bigger premises in Redditch to operate alongside her branches in Bromsgrove, Knowle, Allesley Coventry, Ross-on-Wye and the University of Warwick.
“I wanted somewhere nearer the town centre. The team at John Truslove were very helpful and when we wanted to look around the premises at Church Green East, James showed my practice manager and I around. My partner, who does CAD design, was able to come up with a plan that ensured the offices would work for us in providing treatment.”
Ian and James helped Kiran seal a lease on 491 sq ft of space on the ground floor of 7 Church Green East.
Kiran is now looking for further new premises in Worcestershire. She qualified from Coventry University with a BSc in Physiotherapy in 1997 and started on her own 24 years ago. Demand saw her rapidly have to take on another three physiotherapists.
Steady growth has accelerated in the last few years. Most recently the firm has worked with the MACC care home group, providing physiotherapy to residents at its luxury Blossomfield Rose facility in Solihull.
