St Johns Shopping Centre, Leeds, is celebrating a bumper summer with the opening of three new retailers, four lease renewals and the announcement of two new food and beverage operators.
The centre, asset managed by Global Mutual, has enhanced its diverse offering with the recent arrival of leading home furnishing brand Julian Charles, women’s fashion retailer Klass, and footwear brand Pavers, equating to appx 10,000 sq. ft in new lettings.
With a focus on expanding its food and beverage offering, St Johns is also excited to announce that popular brands Churros Locos and Burger King are due to open in Autumn of this year. These brands will bolster the existing line-up at the centre, including Subway, McDonald’s, and Taco Bell, as St Johns continues to provide a strong food and beverage offer.
St Johns is equally pleased to retain leading brands, including Poundland, Bodycare, and Yours, which have all committed to an additional five years at the centre, and fashion retailer Roman, which has invested in extensive refurbishment and expansion to its’ new store.
Both new and existing stores are set to benefit from the strong footfall and trading performance of St Johns, as it continues to buck national trends and outpace Leeds City Centre growth, with footfall increasing by 4.3% year-on-year, and the centre now fully let.
Pavers Area Manager, Sharron Widdowson, commented ‘We’re thrilled to finally bring Pavers to Leeds city centre. This is an exciting store for us, as a company born in Yorkshire. We look forward to meeting all our new customers.’
Steven Gray, Head of European Retail Asset Management at Global Mutual, said ‘We are delighted with the new openings. The strength of recent footfall and trading performance is a great indicator of the scheme’s success. With the lower mall now being fully let to much-loved high-street brands, our focus now shifts to further enhancing the catering offer at upper mall level incorporating the peace garden’.
