Nationwide waste management company acquire new premises in Stoke on Trent

Veolia, who operate throughout the nation, have acquired Unit 9 Mossfield Industrial Estate in Stoke on Trent, a strategically positioned waste transfer station on the outskirts of the city with the aim to enhance their local service capabilities.

William Speed of Salloway Property Consultants, who negotiated the deal on behalf of a private client, was not surprised at the acquisition by another waste management company. “Given the property benefitted from a rare Waste Transfer Licence, it was almost inevitable for a waste management company to show interest. These licences are increasingly scarce, increasing their value for occupiers who can leverage them. Veolia emerged as the ideal fit for this location.”

A representative from Veolia was thrilled with finding a suitable premises, “Veolia is consistently searching for appropriate Waste Transfer Stations or properties that complement our operations. Unit 9 Mossfield Industrial Estate perfectly met our requirements to serve the Stoke area. Will from Salloway adeptly structured a deal that was mutually beneficial to both his own client and ourselves, making the acquisition run as smoothly as possible.”

Speed highlighted the rarity and value associated with Waste Transfer Licences in today’s market. “Discovering a property with such a licence is increasingly uncommon and can significantly enhance a site’s value. If anyone is contemplating the sale or letting of a property with a Waste Transfer Licence, we invite them to please reach out for any guidance or advise. As the saying goes, “Where there’s muck, there’s brass!””
