The Harbour Shed in Lynmouth acquired by local entrepreneur

Commercial property agents Charles Darrow have announced the outstanding Harbour Shed, a highly profitable business situated in the picturesque coastal village of Lynmouth, with fabulous views over Lynmouth Harbour, has been acquired by experienced entrepreneur Matt Clark, who plans to continue operating to the high standards enjoyed by the previous custodians, Paul & Jonathon.

Located with stunning views over Lynmouth Harbour, The Harbour Shed is one of the county’s most eye-catching chippies, boasting a high-quality internal trading area alongside a stunning garden capable of seating over 70 guests in total. This popular venue has long been a favourite among locals and tourists alike since it received a complete refurbishment back in 2021, known for its quality fish & chips- all cooked to order.

The purchaser, Matt Clark, brings with him a wealth of experience in the hospitality sector, with the acquisition of Harbour Shed being his third thriving business in the village, alongside The Rising Sun and Rockhouse- both situated in close proximity. Matt is thrilled to embark on this new venture, a business that perfectly aligns with their current business ventures.

James Sanders, Associate Director at Charles Darrow commented; “The Harbour Shed is an exceptional business with a superb pitch overlooking the Harbour and estuary mouth. Sites of this nature seldom become available, especially of this quality and high level of fittings within- hence the robust purchase price achieved.”.

“We received a good level of interest in this fantastic going concern, and whilst robust premiums were paid, it does demonstrate good quality leasehold business can still attract multiple bids and solid market premiums. It has been a pleasure to work with all concerned, and we wish Matt all the best in their new venture”.

“With the sale now concluded, we wish Paul & Jonathan all the best with his future endeavours, and special thanks to Bruce Leyland of Taunton Solicitors who acted for the seller, and Kate Stamp of Stamp James Solicitors, who acted for the purchaser- both of which were crucial in getting this over the line.”
