Global Insurance Management (GIM), one of the UK’s leading insurance specialists is moving its UK headquarters to ‘Bourn’, taking 7,291 sq ft in the newly imagined space by IM Properties in Coventry city centre.
It’s the third significant letting at Bourn, previously known as Sherbourne House – a six storey, Net Zero Ready building spanning 90,330 sq ft, which has undergone a £9 million refurbishment.
GIM works in more than 39 countries and sees Bourn as an ideal location to align its operations with a forward thinking and sustainable work environment. The premium Grade A, high specification offices are designed to provide a best-in-class customer experience, integrating sustainability, wellbeing, smart technology and a sense of community.
The letting follows closely behind Corona Energy and OCR, the UK exam board of Cambridge University Press & Assessment’s move to the building.
Rob Hemus asset director for IM Properties, says the letting emphasises the attraction of investing for the future and creating an innovative brand of offices which are Net Zero Ready, BREEAM Very Good and fostering values outlined in its template for a Sustainable Future which prioritises people, place and planet.
“As we move forward, operating in a socially responsible environment is becoming imperative for businesses and Bourn not only aligns with this ethos but elevates the green credentials by breathing new life into an existing building, creating a transformation that rivals the long-term sustainability of even the most cutting-edge new builds.
“The next move for many companies has to be a green one and we welcome the opportunity to help existing businesses in Coventry align with their own Environmental Social Governance (ESG) goals and do what is right for future generations, by choosing an office environment that reflects that.”
The occupier engagement strategy at the building aims to connect ‘Bourn’ and its occupiers with its cultural surroundings whilst offering social value benefits to the broader community. The office space also leverages data and technology to provide an innovative edge, from mobile access to smart maintenance systems enabling occupiers to monitor renewable energy usage, waste management and individual floor plate air quality.
Indoor and outdoor spaces offer natural light and a connection to nature and nearby connectivity. Bourn is just a two-minute walk from Coventry train station and further supports green commuting with a 56-space cycle hub, bike maintenance station and 16 electric vehicle (EV) charging points.
CBRE and Bromwich Hardy are acting as agents for Bourn.
