In a sign of confidence in the commercial property market the British based marine engineering services provider, the SMS Group, have expanded their Southampton marine refurbishment and interior outfit business by purchasing a newly refurbished industrial property and warehouse. The SMS Group purchased the property through commercial property agents Keygrove Chartered Surveyors.
Chris Norman, Managing Director of the SMS Group says “This investment is the latest milestone in the growth of Dan Lockyer’s business. Dan and his team have delivered year-on-year growth resulting in SMS delivering multiple seven figure work packages routinely and simultaneously; we need the space to continue growing.” He goes on to say “its equally important that as our marine refurbishment and interior outfit business continues to grow that we attract the very best people locally; we intend to turn Empress House into a dynamic, fun, and inspirational place to work – we’re absolutely intent on growing and keenly focused on bringing the industry’s best people into the business. Empress House will be our home for years to come”.
Lauren Udall MRICS, Keygrove Director says “The interest in Empress House exceeded expectation with numerous parties making offers. The lack of good quality freehold industrial stock in the South Hampshire region is evident despite political uncertainty. We are delighted to have found a Southampton based company to take the space.”
Keygrove were marketing Empress House, which comprises a 10,019 sqft industrial and office building with dedicated yard and car parking at an asking price of £1.25 m.
