Glencar, a leading UK construction company that was recently ranked amongst Europe’s fastest growing businesses, has staged a tree planting ceremony with leading place creators’ Beyond to mark a key milestone in the construction of phase one, a 41,289 sq ft sustainable industrial development within the initial phase of the 22-acre Elfield Park development in Milton Keynes. Available from June 2024.
Located in the heart of Milton Keynes, Elfield Park is being re-imagined to unlock a vacant and inaccessible piece of land to shape a 21st century industrial/logistical campus. A vision that balances nature and well-being with a collection of highly sustainable commercial buildings providing in excess of 200 new jobs. Nature, sustainability and well-being is at the heart of this scheme with a sense of arrival created by a tree lined avenue and open amenity spaces that enhance the emotional and physical experience.
Construction of the new build, speculative distribution warehouse, which has been designed by leading Architectural practice Chetwoods with associated infrastructure and S278 works started in August last year is expected to be complete by June 2024.
The Tree planting ceremony was attended by VIPs from Beyond, Glencar and the full project team. It marks the culmination of an extensive investment into creating a 4-acre area of extensive landscaping works with a high level of biodiversity and over 200 native tree’s, trim trail and break-out spaces.
Talking about the project Pete Goodman, Glencar Managing Director Midlands said: “We are delighted to be working with Beyond for the first time on this highly sustainable development which will serve as an exciting new destination set to create important local jobs.
Nature, sustainability and well-being is at the heart of the vision for Elfield Park and provides us with another opportunity to demonstrate our skills and expertise in this aspect. We look forward to working with Beyond and the full project team and unlocking this previously inaccessible piece of land”
Also in comment Ian Morrison CEO Of Beyond said: “EPMK is our first project working with Glencar Construction and it has been a pleasure to collaborate together and realise our vision for this special site. People and place are at the core of the design, with an ambition to balance well-being, design innovation and sustainability in a way that enhances productivity – better for business.
This event marks an important millstone for Phase 1, recognising the investment into nature and biodiversity by the planting of over 250 native trees. It’s a moment to thank Glencar and the wider professional team for all their hard work and commitment in making EPMK possible.”
