The penultimate unit on a Stoke-on-Trent business park has been let to a national logistics company, bringing the estate close to full capacity.
Acting on behalf of owners Stoke-on-Trent City Council, Harris Lamb has let units G-I, a 12,195 sq ft opportunity at Daniel Platts Business Park, to Evri, leaving just one property available at the site.
Clowes Developments completed construction of the business park, off Brownhills Road in Tunstall, in August 2020 at the height of the Covid 19 pandemic, shortly after which the site was occupied by the NHS as part of the UK’s vaccination rollout.
As soon as the NHS moved out, Harris Lamb commenced marketing, with strong interest in the modern, well-appointed estate.
Mike Burr, of Harris Lamb’s Commercial Agency team, said: “Daniel Platts Business Park is one of the latest developments within the Ceramic Valley Enterprise Zone, a scheme which offers eligible occupiers a range of benefits including savings on Business Rates for up to three years, but the timing of the completion of this site meant that as a result of the Covid pandemic, there were delays before we were able to begin to seek occupiers.
“As one of the UK’s leading logistics companies, Evri was seeking a well-appointed site which offered excellent nationwide access links, and the estate met those needs thanks to its proximity to Junctions 15 and 16 of the M6 Motorway and the A50, thereby providing access to Derby and the M1.
Mike added: “With modern industrial stock across the region in high demand, there is strong interest in the remaining building at the site, Unit D, a 2,179 sq ft opportunity.”
Councillor Jane Ashworth, leader of Stoke-on-Trent City Council, said: “Our Ceramic Valley Enterprise Zone is one of the most successful Enterprise Zones in the UK so it is great that another national company has chosen to base itself at this key site in Stoke-on- Trent. We are looking forward to welcoming more businesses to the city in the near future to help create new jobs and opportunities for local people.”
Daniel Platts Business Park comprises of two terraces of brand-new high specification warehouse units with 7-7.4m eaves, a glazed reception entrance and loading doors to each unit. The scheme is the latest phase of development at Brownhills Road where, to date, more than 300,000 sq ft of warehousing and industrial space has been developed, with occupiers including Tile Mountain, Toolstation, and JCH Marine.
