Property consultants Alder King have let a prime ground floor retail unit at 21 Bank Street in Newquay town centre to national retailer Card Factory.
A specialist greeting cards, gift dressings and party products retailer, Card Factory is actively growing its store footprint across the UK, opening new stores in under-represented locations.
It agreed a new five-year lease on the 1,312 sq ft Newquay property off a quoting rent of £32,000 per annum. The Newquay store brings Card Factory’s portfolio in Cornwall to eight. Card Factory was represented by Craig Cawthorne of retail property consultancy FMX.
This is the sixth letting Alder King has completed on Bank Street over the past three years and confirms the perennial appeal of the area.
Alder King partner Ian Simpson, who acted on behalf of a private investor client in this latest transaction, said: “Bank Street is a busy holiday high street, with continued demand for good quality units. Card Factory will be a popular addition to the line-up of stores and businesses in the area.”
Previous Alder King transactions on the street include the lettings of 13 Bank Street to Reed in Partnership, 13a Bank Street to Whitehead-Ross Education & Consulting, 23 Bank Street to Cornwall Hospice Care, 32 Bank Street to Cornish Oven and 1 Bank Street to So Sweet.
