On behalf of Clydebuilt Limited Partnership, Ediston has announced that Caledonian Sleeper, which operates the overnight sleeper train services between London and Scotland, has completed a new lease at 70 Wellington Street in Glasgow City Centre.
Caledonian Sleeper has now taken occupation of the 4th Floor east suite following completion of the fit out, undertaken by Ediston.
“70 WST” has also been extensively refurbished internally following the replacement of the building’s glazing and curtain walling in 2022. The building now boasts a new entrance foyer and common areas, new wellness facilities, including cycle store, lockers and maintenance bay, showers and electric vehicle charging spaces.
With a desire to deliver a considered and sustainable approach to the Caledonian Sleeper fit out and wider refurbishment of 70 WST, Ediston’s aim was to reduce the environmental impact and carbon footprint and boost the local economy. The four core procurement principles were responsible sourcing, minimising waste, reducing transport emissions and supporting local businesses, therefore encouraging local employment opportunities. Where possible these principles were delivered within a 70 miles radius of the building, and the concept of ‘70 Sourced’ was born. “70 Sourced” will continue to underpin the ongoing asset management and leasing of “70 WST” as Ediston delivers “let ready” suites ranging from 450 – 4,000 sq ft in the first half of 2024.
