A free event on exporting is to be held by industry experts to help businesses in the region access European markets.
UK and European distribution specialists Exact Logistics have teamed up with the UK Trade and Investment team, based at the Coventry and Warwickshire Chamber of Commerce, to host the event at the Ramada Hotel, in Coventry on March 7 at 9am.
The seminar will include an economic update and advice on trading with Germany from Sylvia Tunmore, head of trade at the UKTI British Consulate in Dusseldorf; advice from European palletised freight specialists Exact Logistics on the practicalities of shipping goods to Europe and guidance on the importance of language and culture in winning and retaining overseas customers.
Attendees will also hear about the latest support available from UK Trade and Investment and the Enterprise Europe Network to assist companies in accessing new international markets.
Adam Shuter, managing director of Exact Logistics which is based in Dunchurch Trading Estate, in Rugby, will speak at the event and offer expert insight into exporting.
The firm currently handles palletised deliveries between the UK and Ireland right across the European continent. They operate a daily trunk vehicle to and from their German hub which means that they can deliver anywhere in Germany within 72 hours and meet onward connections to Austria, Switzerland and Czech Republic.
“With Europe on our doorstep, it is a logical avenue for businesses to investigate when first looking to trade internationally.” said Shuter.
“We are inviting companies to come and find out how their business could find new markets and grow through export
“In this time of economic uncertainty there has never been a better time to explore international opportunities.”
Mick Page, head of international trade at the Chamber, said: “Last year we launched our Exporting is Good for Coventry and Warwickshire campaign and is has certainly helped to raise awareness of the opportunities for firms of all sizes and sectors to trade abroad.
“Events such as this help companies to drill down a little deeper into how they could actually get their goods to overseas markets.”
