Law firm Hill Dickinson has expanded into Birmingham following a deal concluded by property consultancy Vail Williams.
The expanding commercial law firm has taken more than 2,500 sq ft of office space within the heart of the city, commencing operations in the historic Grade II-listed Louisa Ryland House from February 1.
Vail Williams’ Senior Surveyor Matt Cureton and Regional Managing Partner Carole Taylor acted for Hill Dickinson.
The arrival of two new partners, Nick Dawson and Emma Callow, has enabled Hill Dickinson to establish a dedicated presence within the city for the first time.
Setting up an office in the Midlands is a logical step in the firm’s regional growth strategy, connecting its rapidly growing presence across all the northern regions with London.
The Birmingham team will complement Hill Dickinson’s existing fast-growing corporate and banking offering nationally, which already numbers more than 100 lawyers across six major UK cities.
It also comes as the firm’s national corporate and real estate teams work across an increasing flow of instructions from the region.
Matt said: “We have a long-standing professional relationship with Hill Dickinson and we were honoured to have been tasked with the search, acquisition and negotiations on Louisa Ryland House.
“We look forward to an ongoing association with Hill Dickinson, especially through referrals, as the dynamic Birmingham commercial property market continues to thrive.”
Louisa Ryland House, in Newhall Street, is a beautifully restored early 20th-century building situated in Birmingham’s Colmore Business District and named after one of the city’s most impactful philanthropists.
At the heart of the city – Birmingham New Street Station is just six minutes’ walk away – the characterful building, which underwent a high-quality refurbishment in 2023, is a workspace where ornate architectural details blend seamlessly with state-of-the-art amenities and enterprise grade connectivity.
Keith Feeny, Director of IT and Operations at Hill Dickinson said: “Having a presence in Birmingham is an important step in Hill Dickinson’s national growth strategy and we wanted our address and our office to reflect that.
“Matt and Carole at Vail Williams did an excellent job in helping us find our new premises at Louisa Ryland House.
“We’re delighted to be in Birmingham and look forward to welcoming new and existing clients to our very modern and exciting new home.”
