Leading owner, manager and developer of European logistics real estate Logicor has announced the completion of a 112,000 sq ft extension for retailer B&M to support the growth of the occupier’s business in the North West. The distribution centre in Runcorn now offers 455,000 sq ft of premium space which incorporates new yards, new loading provisions and an additional 32 HGV parking spaces.
In line with Logicor’s commitment to acting responsibly, the refurbishment delivers a renewed focus on sustainability with a 10% improvement on the site’s emission rate.
LED lighting has been installed with occupancy sensors and daylight controls to ensure that energy is used efficiently and only when needed, as well as EV charging points across the site.
Occupier B&M were able to remain onsite throughout the construction period by occupying the original warehouse. Logicor worked closely with the retailer to ensure the expansion caused minimal disruption thanks to careful planning and coordination of removals and services switchovers.
Charlie Howard, Managing Director for Logicor UK said: “We’re delighted to be continuing our long-standing partnership with B&M and are pleased to be able to support its ongoing growth at Runcorn.
“Our collaborative approach to asset management has allowed us to live up to our commitment to act responsibly and make significant sustainability improvements.
“With resilient demand for modern facilities in prime locations like this, we’re committed to continuously improving our warehouses. Delivering quality, sustainable spaces where and when our customers need it.”
Completed last month, Logicor’s new Runcorn warehouse delivers high quality space with great connectivity to the national motorway network and the North West region in particular.
