Cardiff Business Club has welcomed Welsh businessman Phil Jardine as chairman.
Gwent-born Phil is Head of the Property Services Group of Blake Morgan Solicitors across Wales, and England and has been a key part of its leadership over several decades. He has wide experience of large-scale public and private development work, joint ventures, regeneration projects and property transactions, particularly relating to the governmental, health and education sectors.
Not only a former Director of Cardiff City Football Club but an avid fan, Phil replaces Scott Waddington as chair. He has been a member of the Cardiff Business Club for over 25 years.
Non-Executive Chair of Transport for Wales Scott has stepped down after nine and a half years as the Club’s chairman.
Scott said: “After nine and half years at the helm of Cardiff Business Club, it is time to hand over the baton and I can’t think of anyone better than Phil. It has been a great pleasure watching the Club transform through the tumultuous years of the pandemic which saw our events turn virtual, and thrive as we emerged on the other side. I’m pleased to welcome Phil to the role and I’m sure he will thrive here.”
Phil said: “I’m so pleased to be joining Cardiff Business Club’s board during such a pivotal time in the Club’s development. The diverse, inclusive approach that has been developed in recent years is something I aim to build on further, alongside broadening the membership profile to target an exciting new and younger audience. I look forward to getting started with our first speaker event of 2024, welcoming His Excellency Markus Leitner to Sophia Gardens on 27 February.”
