Acorn Group director Dan Langford has been appointed to the Board of Wales in London – a London-based organisation that allows its members to contribute to debates on issues affecting Wales.
Dan, 42, is Group Marketing Director at Acorn, the leading multi-regional recruitment and training company, which has its UK headquarters in Newport and includes technical subsidiary business Exxell, based in London and the South East of England.
Formed in 1994 to create and foster social, business and commercial links between the two regions, Wales in London offers a network in the English capital that supports Welsh interests and causes.
It acts as a bridgehead between London and Wales for individuals and organisations who are seeking advice, opportunities and access to contacts, and promotes Wales and the interest of Welsh exiles in and around the London area.
Dan, a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Marketing and who has been on the Acorn Board for over seven years, joins the WiL Board at an exciting time, with membership numbers growing and an increasing schedule of development activity across a range of political, professional, cultural and business-related areas.
Chairman of Wales in London, Robert John said: “It has become increasingly important to us to build on our relationships with organisations and individuals in Wales and Dan is well placed to help us achieve that.“
Commenting about his appointment, Dan Langford said: “Wales in London does a terrific job in promoting all that is good about Wales, and offers Welsh organisations and individuals working in the Greater London area a welcoming and influential point of contact.
“I’m keen to see how the good work of Wales in London can be leveraged still further to benefit Welsh-based organisations and individuals, and provide a natural link to develop interests and maximise the opportunities of the English capital.”
