Business leaders, entrepreneurs, commercial property agents and representatives from the local business community turned out in force to celebrate the opening of the new Cubo flex office space at Standard Court in Nottingham.
The impressive Standard Court is located on the Royal Standard Place development, close to The Park Estate and the city centre. It boasts an elevated position and 360 degree views over the city.
The 50,000 sq. ft workspace is the largest in the Cubo portfolio, with 630 desks arranged over four floors. It also features external community areas.
Guests at the launch were able to take a tour of the new office space, meet the management team and find out more about the many benefits of becoming a Cubo member – which include 24/7 access, the use of large communal spaces, private areas, meeting rooms, break-out spaces, kitchens, a barista service with complimentary beer and fizz on tap, and a programme of free networking events – all designed to enhance the lifestyle-led offering at Cubo. It also has a secure underground car park with 44 spaces.
A full wellness centre including gym and spa is set to open in the New Year.
Businesses who have already joined Cubo at Standard Court include digital marketing agency Adtrak, who have expanded from Cubo at Fenchurch Street to a 40-desk office at Standard Court, and leading property services company JLL, which is investing in hybrid working for its staff.
Cubo acquired Standard Court, the former Nottingham General Hospital headquarters, in April 2023 following accelerated growth at its existing Fenchurch House building. A complete refurbishment of the building has been carried out, including a CAT A fit-out of the existing offices.
Since the workspace opened last month, more than 50% of the space has been let. There has been significant interest from other corporate businesses looking to be based in one of the city’s most high-profile buildings and more new members will be announced shortly.
Cubo was founded by property investors Marc and Becky Brough and is rapidly establishing itself as the UK’s leading provider of high-end flex office and co-working space with locations in cities including Leeds, Edinburgh, Manchester, Newcastle, Edinburgh. Birmingham, Derby, Nottingham, and Sheffield.
Earlier this year, ambitious plans were announced to almost double its footprint nationally by the end of 2023 – a growth strategy backed by investment firm Literacy Capital.
Cubo continues to transform the traditional serviced office model, providing an experience-led lifestyle offer to meet the changing needs of businesses – from hot desking to a designated desk, private office, or entire floor, all available on flexible terms.
It offers spaces that combine the traditional requirements of functionality with a new focus on enhancing member experience. As a result, it is the location of choice for a growing number of SMEs, tech companies and corporate companies who are looking for the best Grade A space in each location.
Commenting on the official launch of Cubo at Standard Court, Marc Brough, CEO of Cubo, said:
