Property consultants Alder King have announced the promotion of James Mackay, based in the Swindon office, to partner and Nathan Clark, based in the Bristol office, to associate with effect from 1 March 2013.
James joined Alder King in 1999, qualifying as a chartered surveyor in 2003. In 2010 he relocated to the Swindon office to become Head of Professional Services, advising clients on valuation and landlord and tenant issues. Over the last three years James has developed a speciality in Financial Viability casework for both developers and local authorities across the UK.
Development Viability has become a crucial aspect of residential-led development since the economic downturn. The introduction of the Community Infrastructure Levy (CIL) and revised Affordable Housing Policies are having a significant impact on the deliverability of residential development and it is important both for developers and local authorities to understand what is and is not deliverable.
Nathan Clark joined Alder King’s award-winning agency team in Bristol in 2010, advising clients on the acquisition and disposal of industrial property across Greater Bristol and nationwide. In 2012, Alder King’s industrial agency team completed more deals across Bristol than any other agent in the city.
Martyn Jones, senior partner at Alder King, congratulated James and Nathan, saying: “We are delighted to recognise the hard work and dedication shown by James and Nathan with these well-deserved promotions.”
