An established Birmingham manufacturer has sold two industrial properties in Tyseley for more than £1.6 million.
RCS Manufacturing Ltd has sold the freeholds to two properties on Weston Lane; Unit 2 Weston Works, and Units 1 and 2 St Andrew’s Works; further to their recent relocation to a 54,000 sqft facility in Redditch.
The business, which was established in 1981, provides high security walls or complete enclosures from cabins to entire factories, as well as high tech solutions requiring blast and ballistic to a range of standards including the UK government’s CPNI standard for the protection of government assets, including data centres.
Unit 2 Weston Works, an industrial building with three-storey section to the front and an industrial workshop area to the rear, has a floor plate of 17,474 sq ft and was sold for £900,000, while Units 1 and 2 St Andrews Works – an industrial premises which were originally part of a larger complex which has since been broken up – comprises of 10,760 sq ft of workshop space with level access loading to each unit, an eaves height of 4.25m and a secure concrete surfaced yard. The units were sold for £725,000.
Thomas Morley, of Harris Lamb’s commercial agency, said: “The freeholds for both of these opportunities were placed on the market having become surplus to requirements when the previous owners relocated to a new facility in Redditch.
“With demand for industrial accommodation continuing to outstrip supply, freehold opportunities are extremely rare, and these two buildings attracted significant levels of interest. Both these opportunities were procured by investors which demonstrates huge confidence in the Birmingham industrial market, which shows no signs of slowing.”
