Tritax Symmetry has signed a 15-year letting of 116,000 sq ft to LWC Drinks at the final building at Symmetry Park, Aston Clinton.
This building will represent an expansion of LWC’s south-east operations, delivering goods between London and surrounding areas. LWC hopes to open the new base in October.
Constructed by Readie, the building is the last of the three units which were speculatively developed. Pangaea Laboratories pre-let a 92,850 sq ft building and Rexel UK pre-let a 184,000 sq ft building, both on 15-year leases.
All buildings were built to Net Zero Carbon in Construction in line with the UK Green Building Council’s framework and each building provides approximately 25% photovoltaic coverage of the usable roof area.
Speaking about the letting, Charlie Mackaness, Development Surveyor at Tritax Symmetry, commented: “Over a five-year period, we have successfully constructed and let over 645,000 sq ft of floor space at Aston Clinton and led the way in establishing the areas as a key south-east distribution location.
“LWC Drinks is a superb addition to the excellent calibre of businesses we have here at Symmetry Park, Aston Clinton and will be the perfect base for the company’s ongoing expansion in the south-east.
“The significant investment Tritax Symmetry has made into the local area has provided jobs, employment and income for the local authority and our business remains focussed to continue delivering best-in-class logistics parks across the country.”
Ebrahim Mukadam, managing director for LWC Drinks commented: “I am delighted to be announcing plans to open a new depot in Aylesbury, and another significant step forward in LWC’s growth journey.
“London and the South East is a notoriously busy and demanding area, and an area in which we have had a footing for some time. However, as our customer base has grown, it is imperative that we uphold our commitment to service levels and maintain the same high standard of service our customers and partners have come to expect. This means investing in our local infrastructure and facilities, as we grow, to futureproof and protect our service level for years to come.
“We would never want our business successes to risk compromising our service – the foundation of our business – which is why we will always reinvest where we can, to safeguard this.
“I’m really looking forward to welcoming new customers and colleagues to the site when we open our doors in October.”
The project team includes Readie Construction, AJA Architects, KAM Project Consultants, Hydrock Engineering, Framptons Town planning and Savills Project Managers.
