Logicor, a leading European owner, manager and developer of logistics real estate, has reached its 100th deal of 2023 as customer demand for industrial and logistics space remains strong.
The milestone deal saw Logicor secure a new letting in the prime last mile location of West Molesey , with furniture logistics experts, De Girolami, taking the newly refurbished Unit 3, Central Avenue.
De Girolami will lease the 18,000 sq ft warehouse on a 10 year lease. Located on the outskirts of London, Unit 3 Central Avenue boasts close links to the A3, M3 and the wider motorway network.
Following a full refurbishment, including replacement of the wall cladding, the installation of an air source heat pump and EV charging stations, Unit 3 offers high-quality sustainable business space that will support De Girolami’s commitments to minimise carbon emissions.
Founded over 60 years ago with just one truck, De Girolami has grown to a fleet of over 170 vehicles. In 2015 the dedicated team opened its first UK bases in London and Leeds as part of its European expansion and is now operating from three UK sites and eight locations across Europe, partnering with Logicor for the next step in its growth journey.
James Carney, Senior Asset Manager at Logicor, said:
“As a business with sustainability at the heart of its operations, De Girolami was in search of further space to serve its growing UK customer base, working with leading Italian manufacturers to offer storage, business to business, and direct home deliveries. This newly refurbished and carbon efficient unit offers the perfect space to support its sustainable commitments whilst increasing connectivity to customers.”
Peter Claridge, General Manager, De Girolami added:
“Working with Logicor to grow our UK footprint means we can reach more customers across the UK and deliver quicker distribution while maintaining the seamless service our customers expect. We offer everything from bespoke projects, direct to home delivery and installation to traditional B2B logistics meaning connectivity and access are absolutely critical for us as we expand. That we’re able to grow with a partner who can help us minimise our carbon emissions is of even greater value.“
Logicor recently acquired a neighbouring development plot in West Molesey, 29 Central Avenue, as part of its drive to increase its presence in key locations.
Adding to the existing site at Signal House, the combined 4-acre site will be developed into a new multi-unit industrial and logistics scheme to provide modern logistics real estate and will be available in 2025.
Hollis Hockley and Cattaneo Commercial advised Logicor on the 100th letting.
