National property consultancy Vail Williams has hired a senior surveyor to join its burgeoning occupier advisory team in London.
Based at the firm’s Soho office, Matt Waite is responsible for advising clients on a range of occupier advisory issues – from property acquisitions to lease events.
He joined from a London real estate firm where he undertook a similar role and qualified as a chartered surveyor in 2020.
He specialises in advising on all aspects of property occupation with a geographical focus on central and greater London, but is also experienced in advising investors and developers.
His expertise covers a range of issues, from leasehold and freehold acquisitions and lease advisory, to working with clients to ensure that their business rates assessments are fair and accurate, challenging them with the Valuation Office Agency if necessary.
Matt said: “I am gratified to have joined such a progressive consultancy as Vail Williams and am looking forward to using my skill sets to ensure clients continue to receive the second-to-none service for which the firm is famed.
“I help clients find a property most suited to their business needs for the best value, provide strategic advice as lease events arise, and ensure my clients do not pay over the odds in business rates.
“This helps to reduce some of the largest expenses that businesses face and allows my clients to focus on what matters most – successfully running their business.
“I get a great sense of achievement when we successfully acquire a new property for a client and it allows them to unlock the next stage of their business.
“I also get a feeling of pride when our advice allows a client to minimise cost increases or save money which they can re-invest in their own business.”
James Lacey, Vail Williams regional managing partner for London, said: “Matt is a consummate professional who has immediately and seamlessly fitted into our busy team and we look forward to great work from him.
“He fits our ethos perfectly, creating trust and a good working relationship when advising clients by investing a great deal of time in achieving an insight into how their business works and how property can be used to their benefit.
“This is very much part of our core goal regionally in which we seek to talk business and fully understand client goals, businesses and objectives in London, where we have been a trusted adviser for more than two decades.”
Vail Williams’ full-service property advice includes commercial agency, investment and development advice, building consultancy, property valuation, planning, lease advisory, property asset management, business rates and occupier consultancy.
