Uncommon has announced its latest central London workspace – Uncommon Holborn. Opening in September 2023 and set to be the largest Uncommon to date at 105,000 sq ft, with productivity and community in mind.
Uncommon Holborn will offer the future of office workspaces, design-led, environmentally focused, including the world’s most sustainable phone pods and technologically advanced meeting rooms incorporating high-tech online meeting solutions to facilitate conferences where guests can join virtually and in person. As well as this, the Uncommon app, which allows guests to book meeting rooms, opens doors with a digital key and network with fellow members. Perfectly complemented with an unrivalled level of day to day service.
Soon to be hailed the most progressive workspace in London, Uncommon Holborn will service over 2,000 people, with an incredible range of facilities, from a Wellness Studio for morning yoga to a rooftop bar for after-work drinks overlooking the City. Members will be able to fully customise their private office space with the Uncommon curated in-house design team to suit their bespoke requirements. Non-members will be able to purchase day passes and book meeting rooms and event spaces, including the roof terrace.
Designed to boost productivity and well-being, following an extensive design process taking into account years of feedback from existing members of the current four Uncommon sites in Liverpool Street, Borough, Fulham and Highbury. This includes:
Office workers today like to change the space they work in according to a specific task at hand. Uncommon Holborn will offer communal spaces for a range of needs including opening up space for larger events, intimate zones for catch-ups, quiet zones for individual focus work, communal tables for brainstorming sessions with teams, and professionally equipped meeting rooms.
The communal areas will be equipped with a range of Framery pods hailed as the ‘world’s most sustainable pods’ for private calls, made with recycled glass, steel and 80% PET (plastic bottles) created with 100% renewable energy with GREENGUARD certification. The pods will be odour and sound proof using certified textiles.
Uncommon has collaborated with design consultant, Quarterback, who has carefully selected all furniture to meet BREEAM (world’s leading science-based certification systems for sustainable built environments) requirements and are FSC certified (non-profit organisation that promotes responsible management of the world’s forests via timber certification). From the reception desk counter tops made from 100% recycled materials, to the crockery on site from female potter Victoria Brooks who uses recycled clay in her projects. Uncommon Holborn is a culmination of the brand’s ethos for sustainable design.
Allows users to control their day right at their fingertips, whether booking a meeting room, opening doors with a digital mobile key, networking with other members or acquiring day and weekend passes. The Uncommon app gives members a full suite to manage their membership.
Each office will have a display tablet to control ambient temperature and lighting. Uncommon uses sensors to make sure lights and energy are being used in the most eco-friendly way, turning off when there are periods of no activity.
Uncommon measure, monitor, reduce and offset emissions by reducing, reusing and recycling their consumption of energy, water, goods and waste. Uncommon wants to give transparency and raise awareness of the importance of being eco-friendly, giving members full visibility of their office’s ecological footprint and also supporting them on their mission of being greener.
The member’s lounge provides the perfect bridge between work and play, becoming a space where teams may gather for brainstorming sessions or wind down with well-deserved after-work drinks. The bar area, with its chic and contemporary design elements, will make you forget that you are in a work space and will provide serene surroundings for your morning coffee or favourite after-work tipple. The member’s lounge also has fresh food on offer, meaning members can settle there for hours.
Members will have the privilege of having access to the workspaces’ state of the art wellness studio, complete with professional facilities and experienced trainers. The classes on offer will range from yoga, pilates, meditation and stretching, to HIIT and kickboxing as well as seasonal workshops that focus on physical and mental wellbeing. The site also includes bike storage and beautiful shower facilities, so members can return to their desks feeling refreshed after their workout.
The roof terrace offers captivating panoramic views of the London skyline, which may be enjoyed as a backdrop for any occasion. Featuring a cocktail bar and lounge area, the space is immensely versatile and may be used for private events such as meetings, yoga classes and social gatherings.
Uncommon strives to create truly sustainable environments for their members, team, and partners to thrive in. This is why they have developed their environmental, social and governance (ESG) strategy, setting ambitious market-leading targets across environmental and social. As a direct reflection of this continued commitment, Uncommon has achieved the B Corp Certification, an incredible result which is a testament to the unrivalled service and exceptional commitment to people and sustainability.
