Specialist West Country recruitment company Concept Staffing has won the contract to supply a leading international electronics business in Devon with all new staff for the next year.
Concept has been selected by Fairford Electronics as the sole supplier of permanent and temporary workers at its plant in Ivybridge.
Market-leading Fairford Electronics is one of the continuing business success stories of the region. Since relocating to Ivybridge in April, Fairford has seen significant expansion, and this year turnover is targeted to grow by 40%, to around £4.5m. The substantial investment in new premises and equipment was supported by a grant from the European Regional Development Fund.
A total of 85 per cent of Fairford’s sales are exported to more than 60 countries, with the US and German markets being the company’s biggest customers.
Concept will be looking to provide the company with a range of personnel as the business develops further, including engineering specialists, key account executives, technicians, electronic assemblers and temporary production staff.
Mark Shepherd, Managing Director at Fairford Electronics Ivybridge site said: “We are delighted to have chosen Concept Staffing as our sole supplier for staff. We believe they have the knowledge and experience to recruit the specialist staff we require as a fast-growing and innovative organisation.”
Celebrating more than 20 years in business, Concept, which has branches across Devon, Cornwall, Somerset and Wiltshire, is the South West’s leading provider of permanent and temporary recruitment which, in addition to other industry sectors, specialises in engineering recruitment.
Together as part of the Acorn Group, the company finds jobs for up to 5000 temps with more than 850 different clients each week, and also delivers training to more than 3,000 individuals and makes 1,700 permanent placements every year.
Concept Staffing Business Development Manager, Trudi Spratt, said: “Despite this being challenging times in the recruitment sector, the Fairford Electronics contract is one of many we have succeeded in securing this year. A recruitment agency like ours that provides permanent and temporary staff to a range of different sectors is a useful indicator of recovery in a struggling economy.”
