Planning and design consultancy Marrons has bolstered its Bristol team with the appointment of planning director Craig Pettit.
With 10 years’ experience, Craig joins Marrons from South West regional housebuilder Thakeham Homes where he was a senior planning manager, assisting on its expansion into Thames Valley. Prior to this, Craig spent more than five years at planning and design consultancy Barton Willmore, working his way up from planner to planning associate.
Throughout his career, Craig has worked closely with later living providers, regional asset managers and residential developers, providing bespoke developments and considering various opportunities for regeneration.
As part of its growth strategy into the South West, Marrons expanded into Bristol in December 2022 with the creation of a new architecture team. In his new role, Craig will be developing Marrons’ planning offering in the South West and Thames Valley, working closely with his architecture, heritage and socio-economic colleagues based out of the Bristol and London hubs. He will also be supporting clients wishing to unlock the potential of their brownfield and greenfield sites.
Craig said: “I am thrilled to now be a part of Marrons – a progressive and innovative consultancy – and to have joined a number of former trusted colleagues who I have worked with extensively previously. I am looking forward to seeing Marrons become one of the leading multi-disciplinary consultancies in the country that adds real value for clients.”
Marrons’ roots are in planning, but the consultancy has since added urban design, socio-economics, heritage and architecture to its list of services, with locations up and down the country – including the Midlands, London, the South East and the South West.
Brian Mullin, partner and head of Marrons, said: “We are thrilled to welcome Craig to the team. He is a real talent and, given his expertise and experience, will be working with the wider planning team nationwide on some of the more complex London and South West instructions.
“He has worked extensively in the Home Counties and within the Thames Valley, and we are looking forward to seeing him develop our planning offering in the South West too.
“Craig has particular interest in the later living sector, as well as unlocking regional potential through mixed-use communities and regeneration schemes. Given his experience both at consultancy and client-side, Craig has an acute understanding of different clients’ various commercial needs.”
Marrons is proactively seeking team and lateral hires.
