A respected firm of architects is moving into newly-built offices in the heart of Birmingham’s vibrant Jewellery Quarter, in a deal arranged by commercial property specialist Siddall Jones.
Pinnegar Hayward Design has been operating for more than 30 years and offers comprehensive architectural and project management services.
The company is moving from nearby Powell Street into a 5,047 sq ft space on the second floor of The Media Works on Carver Street, a short walk from the Jewellery Quarter’s famous clock tower.
The new premises feature an impressive open plan office suite with full height glazing, integral meeting rooms, a fitted kitchen, toilets and covered car parking.
Edward Siddall-Jones, managing director at Siddall Jones, said: “This is a large letting for the Jewellery Quarter market which is somewhat constrained by the historic aesthetic of the buildings.
“We are seeing an increase in demand for larger floor plates within the area but very few building are able to offer the opportunity for tenants to take 5,000 ft2 plus. We are thrilled to welcome PHD to Media Works and build on our reputation for being the most active commercial agent in the quarter.
“This is another example of the current trend of tenants seeking a flight to quality and taking on more sustainable buildings.”
Siddall Jones arranged the deal for landlord Jones and Palmer Ltd on a 10-year lease for a rent of £60,500 a year, with a mutual break option after the third and sixth years.
Hawkins Hatton Corporate Lawyers Ltd of Dudley advised the landlord on the deal, with Higgs of Brierley Hill acting for Pinnegar Hayward Design.
