Birmingham-based property agency KWB has competed a double deal with self-storage business Space Station, bringing two new facilities to the Midlands.
Kenny Allan, director at KWB’s industrial agency, has sold a vacant 69,154 sq ft warehouse on Garretts Green Lane in Birmingham, situated on a 2.43-acre site.
This follows the completion of a land sale at Castle Bromwich Trade Park on Chester Road, where construction of a 12,000 sq ft, five-storey building is close to completion.
The two new units take Space Station’s nationwide portfolio up to 18, seven of which are in the Midlands.
A total of up to six new jobs will be created at these latest facilities which will offer storage for personal and business needs on a long- and short-term basis. Onsite parking is also being delivered.
Stephen Wilson, Head of Real Estate at Space Station, said: “We’re thrilled to have secured this latest site at Garretts Green with KWB, who really have their finger on the pulse of the Midlands market.
“Work will begin on our new Garretts Green site in June to deliver a 95,000 GIA sq ft facility made up of an extensive range of self-storage units.
“The Castle Bromwich site is due to open in August.”
Kenny Allan added: “Both the Castle Bromwich and Garretts Green sites were vacant so it’s great to see them being put back into use.
“They are both in excellent locations close to Birmingham city centre and the motorway networks, with great roadside visibility.”
Other Space Station facilities in the Midlands are in Hall Green, Kings Heath, Shrewsbury, Solihull and Stirchley.
The self-storage specialist is investing heavily into an expansion programme since it was acquired by global real estate investment firm, Heitman in October 2020.
