The former Noah’s Ark pub next to Paignton Zoo is undergoing refurbishment before opening as Harley’s American Bar & Grill in late May. The site at the Tweenaway intersection will be run by experienced operators and business partners who are ex Area Manager and Executive chef of Route Restaurants, who run a number of well-known diners across Devon and Cornwall.
‘This is an excellent location for our new concept’ commented their representative ‘When we first saw it was available we jumped at the chance and can’t wait to get open. For us the combination of being both in a residential area but busy roadside location was a huge positive, that and the Zoo, beaches and surrounding facilities made for a site we didn’t want to miss.’
Michael Easton at Vickery Holman. commercial property consultants, acted for the landlords and reported lots of interest. ‘We ran a process late last year which culminated in a number of proposals being put forward from which the Harley’s concept stood out. With their experience and their themed offer we knew that it would work well for a venue of this size and can’t wait to see the site open and trading again. This follows a busy time in the sector which has fared better in the Southwest than in other parts of the country and despite the well reported challenges has once again shown itself to be resilient to those challenges. There were a number of disappointed applicants for this site and roadside is once again back in vogue.’
