Construction on Somerset Willow’s new headquarters and manufacturing base at Peninsula 23 in Wellington is on track for delivery this summer, with the steel frames now in position.
A fourth-generation family firm renowned for its handcrafted picnic hampers, willow baskets and furniture, Somerset Willow will take occupation and relocate its 20-strong workforce to the new unit before the year end.
The facility will provide 27,000 sq ft of modern production, storage and office space, with room to expand and easier access to the motorway.
Elsewhere on Peninsula 23, the business park developers Roselea Properties have planning consent for a 36,000 sq ft building (pictured) ready to lease or sell to a new occupier. Property consultancy Alder King is marketing the opportunity.
The firm’s partner Andrew Maynard said: “Peninsula 23 is a prime mixed use industrial and commercial location just off the M5 and directly opposite the successful Woodlands Business Park, an earlier scheme developed by our clients Roselea Properties.
“With Monmouth Scientific who took occupation of 50,000 sq ft of new-build space on the park in 2021 and Somerset Willow’s facility fast approaching completion, Peninsula 23 now has two highly successful and expanding businesses. With a further 1-15 acres of development land available, it continues to stamp its mark as a premier destination.”
