Derby-based housing provider Derwent Living has been recognised in a national survey for the way it gives top quality accommodation to international students.
Derwent Living has been awarded the International Accommodation Quality Mark in the National Student Housing Survey (NSHS) 2011.
NSHS is an annual survey of students in higher education across the country. More than 15,000 students from more than 120 universities and colleges across the UK were questioned about the quality of their accommodation.
Derwent Living was one of five university and private hall providers were recognised for the Quality Mark which recognises organisations achieving at least 90% satisfaction among international students.
Kate Outram, head of student services, of Derwent Living said: “We’re delighted to receive this quality mark which shows that Derwent Living is an organisation which goes that extra mile. Derwent Living was one of only five to achieve the outstanding satisfaction level leading to the award.”
Derwent Living provides a range of accommodation management and facilities management services to more than 8,000 student accommodation units across the country. The company’s portfolio includes schemes in London, Birmingham, Nottingham, Loughborough, Coventry, Derby and Sheffield.
“We know that most of the international students we work with have moved away from home for the first time and know how daunting that can be. We work closely with our partner universities to help make everything run as smoothly as possible for those students. We’re very committed to enhancing the whole experience of higher education for students,” Kate added.
