A specialist manufacturer of controlled release food flavourings and functional ingredients has leased additional storage at Days Road Commercial Centre in the St Philips area of Bristol, after agreeing terms through property consultants Alder King and Knight Frank.
TasteTech, which first began trading in Bristol in 1992, is a creative pioneer in the field of microencapsulation, which allows food manufacturers to increase the shelf life and control the release of flavours and ingredients in food stuffs. It manufactures products for the bakery, confectionery, chewing gum and nutrition markets and now exports to over 45 countries.
Over the past 30 years, TasteTech has gradually expanded its footprint at Wilverley Industrial Estate in Brislington. The 70-strong team now occupies four units totalling 28,000 sq ft providing production, laboratories, office and storage capacity.
It has now taken a new 10 year lease on 5,727 sq ft of recently refurbished storage space in Units 3 & 4 Days Road Commercial Centre. The units were previously occupied by City Sprint.
TasteTech managing director Janis Sinton said: “We have enjoyed 50% growth over the past two years and have had to rely on external storage for our raw materials. Acquiring this unit allows us to bring our storage back under our control and will help accommodate future growth.”
Emma Smith of Alder King’s industrial agency team added: “Demand for industrial space across Bristol is extremely competitive, especially in the central district of St Philips. We were delighted to work with Janis and the TasteTech team and wish them well.”
Alder King and Knight Frank acted for the landlord Bristol Properties Ltd. TasteTech was represented by Burston Cook.
