Space Station Self Storage is set to open its 16th UK self-storage facility on Chester Road in Castle Bromwich next spring, creating three new jobs.
The 12,000sq ft six storey building is under construction on vacant land in Castle Bromwich Trade Park, opposite the Fort Park Industrial Estate and close to Junction 5 of the M6.
The storage units will be a range of sizes suitable for personal and business needs available either long or short term. Onsite parking is also being delivered.
KWB Industrial Agency sold the land to Space Station on behalf of Marlin Land, and construction is due to complete in February.
Kenny Allan, director at KWB Industrial Agency said: “This land has laid redundant for over 20 years, so I’m pleased to see it being brought back to life and bringing new jobs and investment.
“We have worked closely with Space Station to design the new development which has excellent visibility and easy access for customers and staff.”
The three vacancies will be Store Manager, Assistant Manager and Customer Sales Advisor and will be advertised early next year.
Kevin Prince, Space Station CEO, added “We are thrilled to be adding another Midlands location to the Space Station portfolio and are progressing well with our planned expansion programme. Once open, Castle Bromwich will be our 16th site in the UK and will offer a premium self-storage solution to individuals and businesses across the Midlands.
“This location will be our fifth in the Birmingham area, following on from the successful opening of stores in Solihull and Kings Heath, as well as the two new stores nearing completion, in Hall Green and Stirchley.”
