Sovereign Centros has announced the relaunch of leading fashion brand H&M at Merry Hill, one of the top 10 retail and leisure destinations in the UK. The refurbished flagship store, spanning 26,000 sq ft, has allowed H&M to expand their offer, delivering an enhanced retail experience for Merry Hill’s visitors.
The store reintroduces the brand’s popular collections of womenswear, menswear, and childrenswear, brought together by a refreshed interior design. There are also new services on offer at Merry Hill, including click and collect lockers and self-service checkouts.
By investing in the shop, H&M has also been able to introduce sustainable initiatives, with garment collection and recycling an increased focus of the retailer. The comprehensive refurbishment, which began in April this year, saw H&M move to a temporary store within Merry Hill, ensuring continuity of trade for customers at the destination.
Alistair Winning, Asset Manager at Sovereign Centros, commented: “Merry Hill has seen some significant investment this year, and it is a sign of strength that a brand of H&M’s calibre has chosen to recommit to the destination with this brilliant and extensive refurbishment. We work hard with our tenants to deliver an enhanced customer experience, as we create a distinctive retail and leisure environment that people want to come back to time and time again.”
Chris Clare, Expansion Manager for H&M U.K. & Ireland said: “We’re super excited to share our new Merry Hill store with our West Midlands customers who will enjoy our amazing concepts and services. Our wide-ranging assortment and the introduction of Kids and Click and Collect means we are offering our customers more options than ever. We cannot wait to welcome our Merry Hill customers to the store today!”
The launch of the new H&M store marks a significant moment for Merry Hill, which has this year alone seen over 170,000 sq ft of new deals. This includes the signing of a 36,000 sq ft unit for leading leisure operator Hollywood Bowl, and new stores for the likes of Beaverbrooks, Ted Baker, HMV, and Kurt Geiger.
