Marketing has just commenced on the potential sale of a large storage and distribution centre in Plymouth.
Drakes Hill Court, Burrington Way provides approximately 7,613 sq m (81,945 sq ft) storage facility set within grounds of 1.3 hectares (3.2 acres) in size, providing approximately 75 car parking spaces.
Until recently, the building has been utilised by Land Registry as an archive store and as such contains a large amount of railed storage racking within the large open plan areas. Otherwise the building has a small amount of offices and computer rooms.
The accommodation is formed within three individual buildings with the east wing originally constructed in the late 1960’s. This building is 2/3 storey in scale and contains the main reception area and links to the other buildings.
The two storey west wing was added in the 1990’s with the rear 3 storey purpose built south annex completed in 2005.
The property is being marketed by commercial property consultants Vickery Holman, who provide the following comments:
“We understand the building has consent for use as a storage and distribution facility, however it is certainly suitable for other commercial uses or to be split up. Given the size of the site, we would also expect interested parties to give consideration to full redevelopment.
We are marketing the site at £1.4 million which at under £20 sq ft is competitive to interest the owner occupier market while providing flexibility for speculators and developers to consider a range of options.”
