Two businesses have signed up to expansion plans at a prime industrial site in Coventry, creating more than 12 new jobs for the area.
Bespoke door supplier Excel Composite Doors has opened their first site outside Bradford and Leeds after moving into Unit 6 at Henley Road Industrial Estate.
Leading traffic light equipment manufacturer SRL Traffic Systems has also agreed a lease for Unit 5, extending their Henley Road presence having been based at Unit 4 since 2019.
It is a double deal for site owners The Wigley Group, with Henley Road Industrial Estate now operating at full occupancy.
Louis Washington-Smith, Asset Director at property investment company The Wigley Group, said: “It is fantastic news to have Excel and SRL sign up in quick succession.
“These units were only vacant for a short amount of time after our previous tenants moved out, so for them to be snapped up so quickly reflects the strong market demand for commercial property in this area at the moment.
“We look forward to helping both tenants with their exciting expansion plans here in Coventry.”
Excel Composite Doors was formed in Bradford in 2013 and utilises computer numerical control machines to manufacture bespoke composite doors.
It now reports a turnover of £3.2 million and sees its 10-year lease at Henley Road as key to its expansion plans, creating around 12 new jobs in the process.
The family-run business will see Taran Panesar run the factory, while Mandy Dehele will run the office.
Managing Director Sunjeet Singh Panesar said: “This is a great opportunity for us to expand our business and bring our niche services to the region.
“Henley Road was the perfect location for us as it is right off the M6 and other motorway connections nearby, which will enable us to serve our customers across the country.”
SRL Traffic Systems is more than doubling its presence at Henley Road by taking on a 4,300 sq ft unit with a warehouse, office, toilets and yard space.
It is a leading supplier of portable and temporary systems to the traffic management industry, supporting customers with a nationwide depot network.
Chris Thornley, Group Procurement and Facilities Manager, said: “We’re thrilled to sign a new five-year term at Henley Road, which has proved to be a great site for us given its transport connections.
“Coventry is used as a central hub and the expansion will help us increase capacity for repair, testing and storage.”
Unit 6 was marketed by Avison Young and Bromwich Hardy.
