Leading construction and property firm, Thomas & Adamson (T&A) is building on a year of growth by expanding its management team. The two new strategic appointments are designed to further increase the company’s influence across the UK’s construction services industry.
Ross Young joins the global consultancy as Regional Director in Project Management with a focus on expanding Thomas & Adamson’s offering in Glasgow and the west coast. Young brings exceptional experience following almost 20 years in client, contractor and consultancy roles, leading multi discipline teams in commercial, retail, residential and education sectors. He joins T&A from Gardiner & Theobald where he was a director, leading project delivery across key sectors in Scotland including major residential, commercial office and education.
Young’s addition to the Senior Management Team comes as T&A celebrate a string of new business wins, with the Project Management division currently delivering a portfolio of projects worth over £900m for the construction industry throughout the UK. Ross’s addition to the Senior Management Team will drive further growth in the sector, with a particular focus on developing opportunities in Glasgow and the west of Scotland.
Zander Muego, Partner at Thomas & Adamson, said: “We are delighted to have Ross join the business. Not only does he bring exceptional credentials and experience to the role, but his mindset, approach and ambition are closely aligned with those of Thomas & Adamson. I am very excited about the value he will add, both to the Project Management team and the wider business.”
Commenting on his appointment, Ross said: “I am thrilled to join Thomas & Adamson at a time of significant growth, and to have the opportunity to play an instrumental role in the strategic vision of the Senior Management Team. In my new role, we will continue to develop a dynamic and motivated Project Management team that provide tailored services exceeding client expectations and aim to become both an employer and strategic partner of choice within the Glasgow construction sector.”
In a second development, Julie Ferguson joins the firm as HR Manager from Curtis Moore. Ferguson brings over a decade of experience in all areas of human resource management across a variety of sectors including Construction, Legal, Facilities Management, Manufacturing and Automotive. Her leadership is expected to further drive growth at T&A, contributing towards the firm’s status as a top employer in UK.
Responding to her new appointment, Julie said: “T&A’s attitude during and post-pandemic and their goal to make the employee experience market leading, is what attracted me to the firm. Their innovative approach to management that allow for the responsibility and autonomy needed to do an outstanding job – particularly during a time when the whole business transitioned to hybrid working – really inspired me. It is an exciting time to be starting with T&A and I am looking forward to building strong working relationships throughout the organisation to further grow the company’s success.”
Both appointments come at a time of growth and expansion for T&A, with recent new business wins set to continue this growth projection and follow on from a set of recently completed projects including: the newly opened £47m Meadowbank Sports Centre, the UK’s first Virgin Hotel, and a £150m BTR project to regenerate Crawley city centre.
