Construction of a multi-million-pound speculative development of 13 small industrial units in East London has reached practical completion, main contractors MCS Group have announced.
The project, at Reef Street, is the second MCS Group has completed on behalf of SEGRO at the developer’s SEGRO Park Dagenham site. The first project was at Hindman’s Way in the town.
The latest project involved the construction of three buildings which were subdivided to create 13 small industrial units totalling 40,000 sq ft. SEGRO is selling the units on a freehold basis.
Ian Seddon, project director at Warwick-based MCS Group, said: “The development at SEGRO Park Dagenham Plot 1, offers an extremely rare opportunity to acquire freehold light industrial/warehouse space.
“It has been a pleasure to work alongside SEGRO on the second project in Dagenham, delivering high quality industrial units which have a focus on sustainability, with solar energy, battery storage and electric vehicle charging points.”
The project forms part of SEGRO’s East Plus portfolio, an initiative in partnership with the Greater London Authority that will deliver an estimated 1.2 million sq ft of commercial space and bring business and employment opportunities to the east London region. The units range from 1,620 sq ft to 6,730 sq ft. Each unit has been designed to achieve EPC A+, BREEAM ‘Very Good’ and Carbon Neutral status, incorporating battery storage and electric car charging points.
SEGRO Park Dagenham benefits from excellent road connections and close proximity to central London via the A13 (one mile) and M25 J31 (7.8 miles).
Award-winning MCS Group delivers projects across the industrial, storage and distribution sector. The company has also built and refurbished more than 300 car dealerships including Audi, BMW, Mclaren and Jaguar Land Rover since its inception in 2003.
