The general insurance team of insurance broker and financial advisory firm The Wilson Organisation has made two senior hires and promoted three experienced professionals in the first stage of its expansion plans for 2013.
New starters are Julie Downes who joins as Account Director, and Richard Lloyd, the firm’s new General Insurance Team Manager.
The team, which works with businesses and individuals across the UK from Wilsons’ Nottingham head office, is further strengthened with the internal promotions of Mike Reed, Paddy Fitzgerald and Karen Reed who all become Account Executives.

Julie has worked exclusively in the specialist area of professional indemnity for 20 years and began her career with Wilsons before joining Derby insurance Broker AH Bell where she headed-up the PI Department for 14 years, working with a range of businesses from start-ups to £5M-plus turnover established companies. The new role at Wilsons will involve working with existing clients and new business development, utilising Julie’s extensive specialist professional indemnity knowledge, skills and expertise.
Technical insurance specialist Richard Lloyd joins Wilsons from Towergate Insurance, Nottingham, and has previously held senior positions at Sutcliffe, Williams & Williams, Westerby Insurance and Marsh UK. With more than 20 years experience within the insurance industry, Richard is ideally qualified to lead Wilsons’ commercial team.
