Leading real estate advisor CBRE has announced it has secured a new tenant for Springfield Road service station in Aberdeen on behalf of the landlord, Esson Properties.
Roadside retail specialist Ascona Group has taken over the property, which comprises 3,186 sq ft of retail space with over 30 parking spaces on a 20-year lease. CBRE’s Aberdeen office worked in collaboration with the firm’s Roadside and Automotive team to secure Ascona. This will be the group’s first site in Scotland and their 63rd site in the UK. The site will become a BP-branded petrol station with Nisa convenience store.
The service station is situated in a prominent location approximately two miles west of Aberdeen city centre with frontage to Springfield Road.
Commenting, Derren McRae, Head of CBRE Aberdeen, said: “We are pleased to announce that Ascona Group has selected Springfield Road service station for its first operation in Scotland, with plans to transform the site into a BP filling station and Nisa convenience store. The company picked a prime west end location in the city, with it benefitting not only from the custom of drivers, but also from ‘walk in’ trade from the surrounding popular residential area. The transaction also provided a great opportunity to work together with our specialist colleagues in the Roadside and Automotive team.”
Manoj Tugnait, Property Director North from Ascona Group, added: “The acquisition of Springfield Road Service Station brings Ascona to Scotland for the first time, something we are very excited about. The site is due to open in a couple of months following an extensive refurbishment program, which will include BP branded fuel, a Nisa convenience store and Greggs.”
CBRE acted for the landlord Esson Properties in the transaction.
