Kier Property has acquired a 5.15 acre industrial and logistics site on Longshot Lane in Bracknell from Reliance Worldwide Corporation. The site is located adjacent to the A329 in the heart of Bracknell’s commercial district.
Kier Property plans to speculatively develop a Grade A logistics unit under its Logistics City brand totalling c.100,000 sq ft, including a first-floor office. The development will target BREEAM Excellent and will incorporate a range of sustainable features including the use of sustainable construction materials, EV charging points, solar panels, LED lighting and cycle storage facilities.
Bracknell’s commercial district is an established industrial and logistics location within the Thames Valley, home to many blue chip multi-national companies. Logistically the town benefits from excellent links to both the M3 and M4 motorways and Heathrow is just a 25-minute drive away.
Leigh Thomas, Kier Property’s managing director commented: “We are excited to have secured this opportunity to develop in a prime industrial area within Thames Valley, which has an acute shortage of new sustainable industrial units. This acquisition demonstrates our continued ongoing commitment to the sector.
“Bracknell’s excellent transport links, strong economy and active workforce create a thriving business community and an ideal business location for servicing the Thames Valley and wider region.
“Our Logistics City brand comprises sustainable and high specification accommodation that will complement the local and regional economy and stimulate further investment and job creation”.
Across the UK, Kier Property has delivered more than six million sq ft of industrial space and has current schemes in Andover, Bognor Regis, Knowsley, Manchester, Milton Keynes, St Albans and Whiteley.
Kier Property was advised by Hatch Real Estate.
