A former arts workshop in Worcester has been sold above market expectation after multiple buyers expressed significant interest.
Leading property consultancy Fisher German sold the former Worcester Arts Workshop in Sansome Street to John and Linda Gresty-Brierley for £700,000 on behalf of owners Worcestershire County Council.
The three-storey, 5,262 sq ft building had been unoccupied since late 2020 when the pandemic forced it to close.
Lauren Allcoat, Associate at Fisher German’s Worcester office, said: “The interest in the sale of the arts workshop showed just how buoyant the commercial market is in Worcester and further afield – we had 22 parties view the building with many making subsequent offers.
“There were bids from parties that wanted to change the building into either offices, residential properties, a hotel, and as an investment.
“This level of interest led to us achieving a great price for the building – far higher than our initial expectations.”
The building will become home to several local fast-growing businesses and a number of community initiatives when it opens in December of this year.
