Birchwood Park, the north west’s largest out-of-town business destination, is delighted to welcome engineering group SEMP to the park. BE Group and JLL were the acting agents for Birchwood Park.
Specialising in systems engineering, SEMP is an international engineering operation which supports in the delivery of major infrastructure projects, specialising in the redesign of project delivery models to reduce several key risks associated with the delivery, including safety and system performance. The business has worked on a number of key infrastructure projects regionally, including delivering Transpennine’s ‘Route Upgrade’ project, facilitating faster journey times and improved network performance for rail journeys across the Northwest.
Following an extensive search to find the perfect location, SEMP has relocated its offices from Manchester to the Warrington-based business park, further evidence that Warrington is among the key business destinations in the Northwest Region.
With a rapidly expanding core team and a network of over 100 associates, SEMP made the decision to take up a larger office space in the refurbished Chadwick House at Birchwood Park. A vibrant and thriving business community consisting of companies small and large, Chadwick House overlooks both the lake and the Birchwood Park’s EngineRooms.
Paula Hamilton, Business Service Manager at SEMP, commented: “We’re delighted to be relocating our office to Birchwood Park in Warrington. Our team has grown rapidly in the last year, which was a major factor in our search for new office space, and Chadwick House is the perfect office space for us to continue our expansion.
“The larger office space was not the only driving force behind our move to Birchwood Park. The park’s excellent amenities, designed to look after the wellbeing of its occupiers, proved a vital factor in our relocation to Warrington. Already, our staff have been using the Park’s EngineRooms – offering a number of lunchtime options with new dishes and cuisines available pretty much on the office doorstep each week”.
SEMP is not the only new occupier at Birchwood Park. The Park recently welcomed a flurry of businesses taking up six small suite office spaces. These include medical communications company Simplifying Science® and school software provider October Resolutions.
Martin O’Rourke, Commercial Director at Birchwood Park, added: “We’re delighted to welcome another engineering group to Chadwick House, marking the arrival of a string of new occupiers here at Birchwood Park. With SEMP relocating from Manchester, it’s clear now, that Warrington sits alongside Liverpool and Manchester as a key location for north west businesses – offering proximity to two international airports, fantastic rail links and an excellent motorway network.
“At Birchwood Park, we are proud to provide occupiers with a variety of wellbeing services upon arrival, designed to actively support businesses with their recruitment and retention strategy. We hope SEMP’s employees and other new occupiers can take full advantage of these initiatives, alongside the green open spaces, various cafés, restaurants, and flexible working facilities available across the park”.
