Brabazon Office Park in North Bristol has consolidated its position as the location of choice for IT, defence and engineering firms in the city, after French technology firm Alten SA chose the Filton development for its first UK base.
Alten SA, a leading European technology consulting and engineering business which carries out design and research projects for major clients in industry, telecoms and services, identified Brabazon as its preferred location due to its proximity to many of the region’s top manufacturing businesses.
Tom Dugay of property consultants Alder King, which secured the deal on behalf of the Terrace Hill Group, said: “Brabazon is fast becoming the hub for high-tech businesses supplying the likes of Airbus and BAE Systems.
“The Park was originally conceived as a centre for the defence and IT sector and we are now seeing increased demand from such businesses actively seeking to relocate here, rather than further afield at Parkway or Aztec West, to be near their clients and other consultants.”
Alten SA, which was represented by Colliers International, has taken Unit 2 which provides 3,070 sq ft (285.2 sq m) of space on a 10 year lease.
Elsewhere on the Park, Alder King has also facilitated the expansion of Stirling Dynamics, an engineering company also serving the aerospace industry. Based in Unit 7 at Brabazon since 2008, it has now expanded into the adjacent Unit 8, taking its total office accommodation to 3,656 sq ft (340 sq m) on a new 10 year lease.
Brabazon Office Park, which provides a total of 45,000 sq ft of office space on a 2.7 acre site close to Filton Airfield, is now fully occupied.
