FORE Partnership, the purpose-driven real estate investment firm, has announced that it has signed OVO Energy, at its 95,000 sq. ft. Cadworks office development in Glasgow City Centre. Leading green energy supplier OVO Energy will take in total 33,905 sq. ft. across the ground, first, second and third floors at the Cadogan Street development.
Cadworks is one of Scotland’s most sustainable office developments and the City’s first office building that is Net Zero Carbon in operation. The Grade A office development features Scotland’s first cycle-in access ramp, extensive facilities for the growing number of Glasgow cyclists, as well as the first private fleet of Swifty Scooters for tenants to use free. Cadworks also features recycled construction materials with cement-replacement technology in its concrete and is the first building in Scotland to use air purifying Airlite paint, a 100% natural technology that is anti-viral, anti-pollution, anti-bacterial and self-cleaning.
As a certified B Corporation, one of the only developers in the UK to achieve this, FORE is committed to environmental stewardship and social impact, working for the benefit of all stakeholders. It is driven to help Glasgow’s most vulnerable communities through its projects.
Basil Demeroutis, FORE’s Managing Partner, said: “We are very pleased to welcome OVO Energy as our second Cadworks tenant, a significant letting and commitment to the recovery of Glasgow City Centre. OVO Energy’s dedication to being a sustainable and a responsible business resonates with our own way of thinking. We look forward to welcoming them to Cadworks.
“Cadworks is about being meaningful to what people want now. It connects the wellbeing of staff and families, the community and the planet together. Through joint initiatives in our ‘urban village hall’ occupiers can join with local community groups and social enterprises. As an example, we are currently helping the charity Refuweegee with its prams appeal, ensuring that donated prams are cleaned and distributed to the most vulnerable families arriving for the first time in Glasgow. There has never been a more urgent need for people to come together now.”
In 2020, FORE ran an essential appeal on behalf of Refuwegee, supporting refugees who are new to the city, and also led an industry-wide a bike donation initiative enabling local social enterprise SoulRiders to refurbish used bikes and donate them back to the community. FORE has donated a cargo bike that will enable another local social enterprise, Social Bite, to extend the reach of its delivery service in line with the City’s 2030 zero carbon emissions target. In addition to being a B Corp, FORE has made an industry-leading pledge for its business and operations to be net zero carbon by 2025.
FORE has already let the 9th floor of the building to leading UK law firm TLT. Cadworks is located on Cadogan Street in Glasgow city centre, minutes from Central Station. The building is being let by Savills, Ryden, and Avison Young.
