CBRE has added further weight to its planning and development team in Birmingham with the appointment of Jon Wood as senior director.
Jon has joined the property consultancy from Homes England, where he was a senior manager for the markets, partners and places directorate, with a regional focus on partnerships and accelerating new housing on strategic development sites.
Prior to Homes England, Jon worked for Commercial Estates Group (CEG) as an area manager in strategic development and land, and housebuilder Redrow, where he was a senior planning manager.
Jon’s appointment is the third successive senior appointment within CBRE’s planning and development team within the last six months, with Andrew Round joining as senior director of economic development and Louise Wyman as executive director, strategic development.
CBRE has also appointed Jack Jones as associate director in its Birmingham residential land and development team.
Jack previously worked at Knight Frank in Birmingham for more than seven years, most recently as an associate in residential development, focusing on the disposal and acquisition of residential development sites across the Midlands region.
Ashley Hancox, CBRE executive director, development, planning and land for the Midlands and South region, said: “We are continuing to build a market leading planning and development team and Jon’s arrival, with his considerable experience in the residential sector, strengthens our skills and expertise in this growing area of the business.
“There’s a lot of synergies between Jon’s and Jack’s roles, particularly around strategic land promotion, so having them both on board is a win/win.”
