The first phase at EAST, an 18-acre strategic development site in Preston, has concluded, with all five speculative units totalling 70,000 sq. ft. let within just three months of practical completion.
EAST is a joint venture between developer HBD and the Barnfield Group. Just yards from Junction 31A of the M6, it is one of Lancashire’s most well-located industrial schemes.
The new occupiers include Centaur Technologies, which will move into a new 20,000 sq. ft. unit, and independent wholesaler, Universal Product Solutions.
Dan Lawrenson, Development Surveyor at HBD, said: “It’s great to see the first phase of EAST now complete, with all five units let within three months of PC. We are also now under offer on the remainder of the site and are hoping to receive planning permission imminently.”
Tracy Clavell-Bate, Head of Development and Acquisitions at the Barnfield Group, said: “There remains a significant shortage of industrial and logistics stock across the region, so we have seen very strong interest in EAST – particularly given its location close to key networks.”
HBD is one of the UK’s most active property developers with seven regional offices throughout the country. It focuses on delivering ambitious projects within three key sectors; residential, urban regeneration and industrial and logistics, in which it benefits from extensive experience delivering large-scale, strategic development in key locations.
Barnfield Group is a contractor, developer and investor working with public and private sector partners and clients for over 40 years. Headquartered in Lancashire, the £80 million turnover property group is delivering a diverse range of schemes on more than 30 live sites nationwide.
Barnfield Construction, the construction arm of the wider Barnfield Group, completed the first phase of EAST and will start on further phases in Q2 2022.
Jason Print of Gerald Eve and Mark Clarkson of Eckersley are the property agents on EAST.
